AEGEE is ...
AEGEE is the student organisation that promotes the idea of a unified
Europe, assisted by an unmatched personal network of European Friends.
AEGEE - CRAIOVA
Became a member of the AEGEE Network as an official contact in May 1996. We signed the "Convention
d'Adhesion at the Presidents Meeting from Timisoara in September, same year, so we became a contact-antenna. After
organising the first Summer Event in the history of AEGEE-Craiova, in July'97, we became an antenna at the Agora
from Ankara.
Currently there are 40 active AEGEE members at the antenna of Craiova. We organised a small
conference in the framework of the "AEGEE Tour" organised by AEGEE - Cluj-Napoca and we had a special
party for the Day of Europe using the music broadcasted by AEGEE by satellite (EUTELSAT II) in may 1998.
We organised a great Summer Event in 1998 ("Tracing Dracula II") and if you don't believe us just ask around.

"Tracing Dracula - 1997" - Moments
"Tracing Dracula" is an AEGEE Summer Event that took part from the 14th till 27th
of July 1997. It aimed to inform foreign students about the real facts concerning the Dracula's myth. We gave the
participants an insight view on the Romanian cultural and historical context that lead to the stories about the
Romanian prince Vlad Tepes (Draculea), as well as the chance to visit the places connected to its reign or to different
movies having as subject Dracula.
The participants had an excellent chance to meet their romanian colleagues and to admire the
beautiful countryside of Romania. Nevertheless, most of them realized their previous image on Romania was quite
a false one, and they could understand the actual romanian socio-economical realities.
